Welcome to the IPPA Website

IPPA (Irish Preschool Play Association), is the largest voluntary organisation working for young children and their families in Ireland.

Founded in 1969, IPPA's membership of over 2400 includes Playgroups, Parent and Toddler Groups, Full Day Care Groups, After-school and Out-of-School Groups and individual members.

IPPA is a nationwide practice based organisation, representing members at local level through the Board of Directors.

  • Over 50,000 children attend IPPA groups.
  • IPPA has pioneered the provision of early childhood education and care in Ireland and has been a leader in setting standards.
  • IPPA has developed Policy Guidelines for Good Practice in Childcare Services.
  • The Training Department provides nationally and internationally accredited Training Courses, and a range of other training options, tailored to identified needs.
  • IPPA is committed to developing quality in all its services.

Staff are responsible for the day to day operation of the organisation. Activities fall into the following broad categories:
